Anyone running RC Components 4" Exhaust
I have RCX 4" mufflers on a 2014 FLHTK. This was the dealer's first Rushmore bike back in September '13, and he had installed them for showroom display on this bike. I would've never considered RC Components otherwise, because I was not familiar with them and had always run V&H or Rineharts my previous bikes. But, I've been very happy with their sound and durability.
My only gripe was that the shape of the neck of these slip-ons didn't fit tightly with the stock header heat shields. There was a noticeable gap at the joint. I tried re-positioning the muffler clamp and adjusting the heat shield position, but I couldn't close the gap.
When it came out in mid-2014, I replaced my stock headers with a RCX Power Max header. The heat shields on new header matches up very nicely at the muffler connection and is now tight with no gap. The sound got a little deeper, and the power delivery is smooth.
Based on my now almost 3 years experience with RC products, I'll buy them again for my next bike.
