Back in late summer 2009 a local dealer would knock off $2500 (+ $750 frt/set-up so in reality $1750) off a FLHTCU. On a side note, I bet the lineman makes quite a bit more than the average cop and he also knows what he's dealing with....

No complaints on money here. It just gets frustrating when there are other jobs that provide services to the public even risking theur lives with no discounts provided. Not speaking of lineman only. Here where I live, it is sickening how things are done here.
Why would a fire fighter or a cop get a discount? I just don't get that mentality. I'm an Army civilian and see 18-20 year old kids pass through the Landstuhl hospital all the time missing arms and legs. Let's not pat ourselves on the back too hard for "protecting the public" while we got this **** going on.
If some of you are going to downplay the danger of being a police officer, gang members and ********* make a conscious decision to murder police officers, to either just simply get away or for the pride of it. Powerlines don't try to murder you.
Also, if you're injured while working on a powerline or some other dangerous profession, firemen/women risk their lives to save you.
