Did you pay $1191.00 for the extra 3 years recently or did you buy that coverage when the bike was new?

i have a friend out on the road right now doing a long distance challenge to raise money for the Smoky Mountain Children's Home he is having an issue with his bike and can not find a dealer that will help Him out .. right now he is headed to the dealer in Salt lake city. to try and get the bike fixed. He's has ESP but the last 2 dealers wouldn't touch the bike and 1 kept it for a full day and charged him a 1,000 to have the same issue happen 300 miles down the road.. The Bike cuts out over the speed of 70MPH Any help will be Appreciated .Thanks in advance

Saw a new 2014 CVO Ultra Limited there the other day priced at $44,995 plus tax, license and dealer prep, meaning OTD is about 50K, if that answers your question.

I have used the ESP on my 2010 CVO SG for a couple of small things, nothing major yet (and I am OK with that!). The local dealer here has been great. I took the bike in once for vibration when braking and they added a spacer to the floorboard because it was hitting the exhaust on braking causing the vibration. Pipers were V&H but there was no charge. I am very satisfied with how the ESP is handled at my local dealer but I do have a question on the tire coverage.

Has anyone used the wheel and tire coverage? How does it work and is it worth the cost? I have it now but not really sure what it covers or how, especially as it relates to tires.

OK, I've been reading for years about about Jim Palmer at Kutter HD in WI. My factory warranty expires in 2 weeks and I've been on the fence about buying the ESP. I never buy warranty plans for anything. If I only rode on the weekends or lived where I couldn't ride year round, I wouldn't have considered it. This is my daily commuter Monday thru Friday (100+ miles/day) and my wife and I will take rides on the weekends. I average 15,000 miles per year and just thought the ESP would be worth it.

Jim Palmer was a pleasure to work with and was $200.00 cheaper than my local dealer's best price (where I bought this bike).

P.S.: Ronp42, your price was better than mine. I didn't haggle with Jim. I was happy to save a couple hundred dollars.

Default Esp

FYI
Matt Britton of Legacy H-D no longer works there.
He was replaced by a lady named 'Noney'? who stated they no longer sell the discounted ESP - The MSRP for my wife's 2012 CVO Street Glide with 26K miles is $1904 for 3 years. That includes tire and wheel coverage.

Ya, I know this is a very old post

With that said.. My 2004 FLHTTCI extended - extended Service contract was about up, though long and hard IF I wanted to do another and final ext warranty / extended service contract. Back when all this started, I first found Legacy HD before I learned of Jim Palmer at Kutter - I called Jim and he was on Vac - called Legacy HD and they are at FULL retail - called my Local HD and they also at full retail PLUS sales tax.. bummer.. Jim got back today from Vac - I had until March 2 to make up my mind... Called Jim - 10% off retail AND I just got a new Discover card (current promo - get new card - after spending first $750 in three months, Discover Gives YOU $150) No annual fee - So, I got my new card yesterday - Called Jim today, placed my order for another three years... saved 10% plus the Tax my Local HD was going to charge AND I used my new Discover card and will get that $150.

Some people think the extended service is a waste of $$ - my first one when new got me a new HP oil pump system along with new timing time set up - first extended got me a new Stator on the road last Summer - Even if I do not use this contract, IF I decided to sell during the next three years... it can be transferred - sure makes selling a used bike a lot easier. My current 04 has 72K on the motor - its now covered for the next three years...

This is not for everyone but works for me

Jim Palmer at Kutter was fast, friendly and painless to deal with... give him a call if you in the market.. Tell him you learned about him here on HD and from Michael in Ca

I bought my 2014 Ultra Classic Electra Glide in September of 2013 and bought the 7 year ESP (Actually is 5 years after 2 year manufacturing warranty from HD expires) for $2100 and that included Tire and Wheel coverage.

I am not sure whether or not it will be used, but bought the same warranty when I bought my new 2010 FLHX.

I guess it is a piece mind that hopefully I will never need to use, but it will be there just in case it is needed.

it is peace of mind and the experts say not to do it... Mine has pretty much paid for itself and if my 10 year old 72K Harley motor says 'goodnight' It will pay again..

And if I decide to sell it between now and the next three years - the buyers gets a HD service contract along with the sale - Not many 10+ year old HD's come with a warranty.

I have actually wanted to sale this bike and get a newer one - just this bike has been a good friend and I enjoy it - use value is not really worth it for me to then add $$$$$$$ for another bike

I would have bought from my local but they would NOT budge - so I made a phone call - got the very same product and save my self $$$- no brainer for me --
