Default Radio Performance

I noticed some popping from one of my original (1993) speakers. Other than a new radio what can I do to get a louder cleaner sound?
http://eglidegoodies.com/ - have replacement speakers that are supposedly better performing but it's a lot to spend and not hear them.

Anybody try this?

J&M 60 watt speakers. Priced well, waterproof, increased performance. I modified my inner fairing and run four of them with a Pioneer deck. Kicks *** and definitly did not cost anywhere near the eglidegoodies deal....

We replaced the stock speakers with a set by Jenson from pep boys auto parts, there are alot of this size speakers out there and they sound 10 times better than the stock, only cost 50.00.

I looked up Hog Tunes and sent them an e-mail but it looks like their speakers start at 1998 model.

I'll look at the replacement speakers and possibly an amp.
Satelite sounds cool but I can't see paying for what I'm getting for free.

Thanks guys
