Who cares how old it is? It's an interesting solution. Rather read this than another, what should my first bike be? Or should I trade my 2 year old bike with $10k in mods and 4k miles in for the newest CVO.

I noticed my 2015 Sonic shuts the lights off when I crank it. I'm going to check my other vehicles to see if they do that.

Thank you rob smith. Ive always wanted to do this. a break down of the steps would be nice for the thick headed diy's. What i liked about the other ideas was simplicity not just to add it but less things to go wrong with less added stuff.

You could run a N/O kill switch to a bracket upside down right above your compression release. When you push them down, it breaks the switch and kills power to the headlight. When the engine starts and the releases pop up, it makes the switch and your headlight comes on. Good luck.

Hint - the diagnostic plug on the battery strap has a black wire in it, and is a good place to wire the relay coil ground. Also, the green and blue wires are in the cavity behind the battery, so it needs to be removed to gain access to these wires. You may want to get a copy of your wiring diagram to see exactly which wires you will be splicing into.
This mod was made on a 2007 Sportster 883.

Has anyone else noticed how these new members have been resurrecting old threads from 5-10 years ago? Not bad to revisit some of these issues, but I have noticed this a lot recently.
