Default Exhaust Question

Trying to find out if I can take a 2010 stock 2 into 1 exhaust and install it on a 2008 FLHX? If so what modifications are needed?

1sweet, you'd then end up with a cat---you want? ( cat went all 50 States in 2010)

angelrod may already have one ( Ca bike).

the head connections would be the same, probably have to look at the mounting points by the tranny.

2 into 1 think Supertrapp, thunderheader. Both highly regarded pipes for torque gains

The mounting points on the saddlebag bottom rails will be different due to the wider rear wheel that started in 09.

I have installed SuperTrapp 2:1 on my last 2 bikes and love the sound and increased performance. Go on the SuperTrapp web-site; they have a video clip that will give you a since of the sound.

Are the o2 bungs on the headers the same size with the '08 and '10?? Somewhere around 08' the size of the o2 sensors changed, so the bung threads changed.

Not much problem at all. I have two 2010 2 into 1 exhausts (1 with the cat, the other without) that I've used on my '07 FLTR. The 02 sensors are different size & location, but since I'm usin' a PC-III & don't use the sensors it's not a problem. I needed to change the bracket for the center clamp off the transmission but you may not need to. It's cheap, so don't worry. The bracket under the saddle bag fits just fine. I've been runnin' one or the other for the last year & a half.

the O2 bungs are also in a different location on anything 09 or newer, different O2's and different location. If you're using a PCV tuner you won't have to worry about it since the PCV doesn't use the O2's. Any aftermarket "auto tune" device will need the O2's.
Jinks you beat me to it
