Default 07 sg bars

my dad has an 07 street glide that he is wanting to change the bars on.

what is the biggest size bars that he can get away with, without having to add any wire or change any of the cables?

what looksthe best as well and will he still be able to use the factory mirrors?

No easy Bar swap for a SG or similar 'Glide that will not require at least the clutch cable to be replaced with a longer one.

None that will allow "full" use of the factory SG mirrors for the most part. Sure, you can rotate them down alot to get the mirrors to have a clear view, but the bars are real low at that point.

search on Wild One 575 and KhromeWerks Sweeper + 2 , these are the 2 monst common bars that are swapped that still leave your hands behind the Fairing and require just the Clutch cable to be replaced.

The Klock werks Ergo Up and Ergo Back Bars also will work, will require the longer clutch cable in most cases and also keep your hands behind the fairing for the most part.

All the other bars that are apes and put your hands above the fairing will require the clutch cable and in the case of the 07 SG will also require longer throttle cables and possbily wiring extensions...

That's the dealio unfortunatly...

If you go with 13" bars you can get away with the stock wires, you can just relocate them, but you will have to replace the brake line and clutch cable with +6 on both. I have a hard time beliveing that 10" will work without rerouting the cable and brake line or stretching them.

I am in the process of changing to 12.5" wild1s 577s. The wires can be undone from the factory connectors, wired thru the bars and hooked back up under the radio. Extemely simple.

You will need clutch and brake extended. Search our site....there are tons of post about what bars need what upgrades.....

Don't be afraid. Go for what you like.
