Here is a couple of pics of the bracket. Just removed the saddlebags. Just used the bolt from the shocks & used a bolt with a piece of copper tubing between the bracket & chrome frame. Sat tour pac on bracket & sat on bike to see where holes in bracket where needed.

I cobbled up a way to mount the tourpak on my Road king. I made the rear docking points from two "axle bolts" I got from Ace hardware and copper bushings. Front docking points are used but the bushings were broke so I made new ones from rubber gas line from the auto parts store. The bracket itself is used from Ebay but I had to have another one fabricated from stainless steel to mate it to the fiberglas pak. Would have been just as easy to make the entire bracket. I also bought the tourpak itself used right here on the forum.

Use steel. I tried alumium and found stress cracks at the 90* bend. Went out & got Steel. Cut to size 1/8" thick 24" length & 10" width. Bent it 6" up for the sides 90*. That part was easy. Tape it up with duct tape as not to scratch the chrome. Figured out where I needed the holes. Front is slotted facing foward. rear is slotted down. The fun part is next I am going to try to make one for 2 up? Just in case I find a hot one that likes to ride (would rather she has her own bike).

I wish I had the time. I made brackets and a couple of one-off pieces for my sporty, but I dont have the time anymore......nor the money anymore. Everything is just getting too damned expensive. I want to do the same thing for a police tour pack that I picked up for 50.00.

Finally finished my home made detachable tour pak mount. Works great and since it uses the passenger backrest mounting points, I don't have those ugly hoops stickin thru the fender that the factory mount uses. Now I gotta find time to paint the tour pak.

Robbed them off an old detach passenger backrest that was laying around. You can buy all the individual pieces from HD except the stud that the latch pivots on.
