Default Heritage Handlebars on a Road King

I read where this helps with neck/back problems. I read several threads where riders installed Heritage Softail handlebars on Road Kings. It's the most economical way to get more height because you don't have to buy new cables. So, I ordered a set through the internet. Come to find out, they won't work because my 2010 FLHR has throttle by wire. These bars are not setup for TBW. Now what? I can't go with apes because of bad circulation. Any ideas? Thanks.

I know this is to late but what you need is Heritage Style # 56902-08. They are the same as the softail Heritage bars but they come made for TBW, will fit 08 and up FLHR, FLHRC, FLTR, FLTRU, FLTRX.
Is there some way you could mod the bars you got to make them work? Maybe some one can help you out on that...Good luck.

If you already have the bars and cant return them, just cut the notch in the end of the bar for Fly By Wire. That's really the only difference in the bars. Any dealer or independent should be able to do it. I did mine, took me about 10 minutes

Heritage style handlebars and Heritage bars, its two different bars.
When you install Heritage style handlebars (PN: 56902-08) on the Road King
You don’t have to change anything, they have notches for TBW.

For Heritage bars, I think you have to make notches only.

I have 2010 Police Road King (it comes w/Heritage style bars from MOCO), and I installed 4” risers without any changes of wires or cables.

You wanted to get the Heritage Style bars - not the Heritage bars. No biggie. Like previously stated they need to be notched for the TBW.
Next up will be the seat!

Default Thanks for the input

I sent the Heritage bars back and ordered the Heritage Style # 56902-08. I guess the seat's next!

Ditto. Also filing the slot in the bars you have will probably be all the throttle by wire module needs. Look at the slot in the standard bars.

Are the Heritage bars the same as bagger bars? I'd heard if you use electra glide bars, it does the same thing you're talking about. I'd like to do this, but now I don't know which is better/right. Oh, are they factory bars that you're using?
