The problem with cast aluminum is that sometimes it comes out porous. A few years back HD had problems with the jugs. Have not heard of any problem with the cases. You would think that if it was a porous case, the oil would have drained out at the factory and the dealer and not just on the first ride.

Therefore I am not to sure of the post. Could be a TROLL.

I believe you. Same thing happened to my 08 Road Glide. Problem with the cases matching up. They fixed it and my bike has run perfect ever since. Didn't take 6 weeks but it felt like it.

You waited 20 years to get back into riding. What's a few more weeks. I'd take the 110 option.

I would take up the offer on the 110 as it would still be under waranty so any proplems take it back , but as others have said the 110,s proplems have long been sorted out.

At least the dealer didn't say "Yeah, they all do that."

I'd go for a 110 if I were in your situation. As long as it's apart, the labor should be about the same and it's covered anyway. The dealer should give you credit for the parts it will take, just use other parts. I see the opportunity to get a serious engine upgrade at a much reduced cost. Maybe leave it a 103 and do cams/intake/remap etc. You'll only be out the price of parts and it'll still be under warranty.

I'd be pretty upset if this happened to me.
Once they fix it the bike it should be fine but missing all that riding time is bad.
I would demand a loaner while the bike is in the shop.
Try and get them to give you some free stuff for all your trouble.
Good luck.

Think the guy believes ya but just wonder if it didnt leak at the dealership but did after you rode it cause the oil got good and hot, thinner and then was able to seep through the pores. As to the 4 to 6 week..prob not much they can do to speed it up and wouldnt want them to "rush" their work and have the problem not fixed right. If they can get HD to throw in a upgrade...thatsa bonus. good luck and keep us posted.
