Hey who rides their kids and what ages? Just wondering how common is the practice. I have a 12, 9 and 6 year old in my herd....

My son is 8 now and started riding with me when he was 5. Short trips and I have one of these for him. http://www.childridingbelt.com/enghome.htm Works great on short runs and gives me the security of knowing that he has to go where I go. I added a sidecar to my fleet so that I could do longer days when I have him with me but he still prefers to ride on the back .... unless it's raining and then he LOVES the full top on the sidecar

My daughter is 11 and she loves to ride with me. My son who is 8 also likes to ride but refuses to wear a helmet so he "chooses" not to ride with me.

My son started when he was old enough to walk - I would sit him on the tank and ride him in the cul-de-sac. He was around 6-7 (he is 11 now) when I let him take rides longer than that. We made sure he could reach the footpegs and we always used a backrest. He also wears a full face helmet, jacket and boots.

My daughter is 8 & my son is 5. I have a helmet & leather jacket for my daughter. She loves it. They don't know me without some kind of bike or quad lol. I'll only take my son around the block for now. I want him to be able to, at least, reach the floorboards before I take him "out of the neighborhood".

Not sure where the laws have headed, but when our daughter was 4 (she is now 26), I put her on the tank ahead of me, and was stopped by officer friendly, who stearnly warned me this was not acceptable. I was told our kids couldn't ride until their feet could set flat on the rear pegs, and a properly sized helmet was worn. This is in the great state of Cheese.
In retrospect it sounds like common sense, but laws do very by state.

My daughter is 6, soon to be 7. She has been riding with me since she was 3. Started sitting between mom and I, now she rides "all by her lone" as she says. I put the passenger grab rails on and she always wears a helmet.
Nothing to serious as far as rides. Usually around the "hood" or short errands.

I thought this was going to be about a pet. Dolt.... Anyway I noticed the Gatto plate on the truck. Been there many times and stop by when I am in town as I grew up less than 2 miles from there.

Cool ,Gattos good to me. Pa law is DOT helmet somewhere for feet and something to hold on in exact words. Funny no age though and I have never been stopped even when he rode on my lap.
