Another FNG question......
As I've visited the various dealers, I'm gettin' all kinds of responses.....
One dealer tells me they'll order me whatever available color combo I want, another tells me that they're like Honda in that they have to preorder all their units, and they can't order any additional ones. He said they would have to "dealer trade" if they don't have the color I want in stock.
Which is the truth? One of 'em is lyin', and whichever one is, I do NOT wanna buy a bike from!!!

Based on what the dealer told me all is true. They do pre-order the bikes on the show floor and will do a dealer trade to get the color combo that you want, or they will order the color combo for you it will just take at least 8 weeks to get it.

sound to me like the one that said they cant order an OPTIONAL color combo is trying to move their inventory.
as long as HD offers the color scheme you want, you can get it... if the dealer doesnt have it, itll take some time.
check HD's website- all the color options are there.
and i cant believe that i paid a surcharge for the two-tone paint.... the silver is only on the lower 1/2 of the tank [:@]

I think the other dealer was saying is he might could find what you want from another dealer and swap out a unit for it, this is done all the time. Why do alot of you guys allways think a dealer is out to screw you? Ive found harley dealers to be the best as to taking care of their customers, buy some jap crap sometime and ask the dealer for some help after the sale, he wont even remember who you are.

Dealers don't lie. Whatever they tell you is the gospel truth. All dealers must pass a rigorous 3 year training effort prior to becoming a dealer and must know everything about every single model bike, right down to the last little torx head bolt.
