After searching the forum and even finding the best description that matched mine (upstroke) after sudden bumps, there were quite a few different causes posted. Detailing the bike this morn, getting ready for a poker run, it was on my mind when I grasped the fender tip and was able to lift it UP ever so slightly and ... Clunk Clunk Clunk !!!
Tighten bolt and I'm off !!!

I like to put a wrench on all of the non critical fastners at every oil change. Found way too many loose over time. Loctite is your friend!
