Default Zumo 665 & NIM install help

I installed the Road Tech Zumo 665 using the HD NIM. Everything works great except when the NAV breaks in for turn by turn instruction, all it does is activate the VOX....???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have gone through and read all the posts I could to try to find an answer first. Thanks in advance for the help.

Ed

Do you have the Harley Road Tech version of the Zumo or the Garmin version?

From what I have read, the NIM only works if you have the Harley version.

With it all the way back ( towards the driver ) that means it's in the speaker mode and not the headset. I wanted to be able to use my headset too? Just re-read the instruction and on the last page under " Warning " among the stuff they list one is that if your NOT using a bluetooth headset then disable the bluetooth in the Zumo itselft. Tomorrow I will give this a try and report back.

08/07, Tried the Zumo bluetooth disable-didn't help, tried the switch in full forward, middle, and ful rear with light on-didn't help. I will be opening up the front and re-re-checking the install.

08/07, Re-Re-checked the installation all is as per instructions dated Rev. 2010-09-14, didn't try the pin swap with 19 and 31, figured they have corrected that by now on these instructions. Going to the dealer Monday and having them fix it. Paying the big $$$$

Default Update: Zumo 665 & NIM Install

Took the bike to the dealer to have them fix the problem. Dam, the problem was me. Even after checking the install twice I missed the fact that the #31 pin was not seated all the way and causing all my problems. The HD tech re-seated the pin and all works as it should. As for the speaker switch being all the way back, even the tech said the same thing. However, on my ride today I put the switch in " speakers " light on and heard the voice prompts and then tried it in the " both " and " headset " positions and was able to hear it fine in the headset. I did have to go into the Zumo and turn volumes up to hear the XM better but other then that it's great. The dealer was great in helping me and only charged me a half hour of his shop time to fix it, props to the local dealer.

Where did you mount the antenna. I'm getting the Zumo 665 with XM Radio and XM Weather/RAD. The antenna is the puck style. Any suggestions?????

Also a tip I found here is to adjust the NAV voice in the headset even more you have to hit the volume button while the voice is talking. If done correctly you will see a NAV/Phone volume pop up on the screen. I have the directions going through the headset but the wife could not hear them and she had to adjust her NAV/Phone volume as as well. The key is that you can only adjust it while the NAV is talking. This fine tunes the NAV volume as well as using the seperate volume on the NAV itself.
