You're joking, right? Why do you think they call them "accidents", genius? Nobody intends on going down, but it happens. If your ever lay your bike down and either you're still on it, or it rolls over on you, then you just might come to appreciate that engine guard, or if you're rolling your bike back into its corner of the garage and it gets away from you, then you just might come to appreciate that engine guard. In case you didn't know this, insurance only fixes the bike - and it goes up every time you use it!

But, hey, do what you want; that's what I'm going to do...

kinda covers just about all, huh?
Yeah, it covers just about all, EXCEPT for the OP's bike, which happens to be a Street Glide motorcycle, which is an FLHX, IIRC, and I don't see that one on your list. The only Street Glide mentioned in your list is a SG Trike.

So, tell me, WHO didn't read the ad?

Nope, not joking.....A$$hole! I've been down before, in most cases what damage that stupid engine guard will save IMO isnt even really worth it. As far as laying it over in my garage, in my 24 years of riding, I have never dropped a bike and dont plan on it. Accidents do happen, but if we all go through life planning and prepairing to have one we might as well not even ride! Are you one of those guys who wear a reflective jacket, pants, helmet and gloves in 100* weather just in case?

Judging from your original comments, I would have said that you were just young and naive. But you've been riding for 24 years, and you've been down before, so you should know better. I guess you're just plain stupid.

By the way, I love your command of the English language. You made it all the way up to 2 syllables and special characters. Wow! And you even got some name calling in while you were at it. I'll bet you're proud of yourself right now.

This is a great example of non sequitur.

Yeah, the name calling started before my post. Remember Genius?

Calling me stupid because I dont want an ugly *** crash bar on my bike? Really?? Do you crash your bike so often that instead of making multipule claims on your insurance and raising your rate, you have a crash bar on it? Come on man. I understand why people have them, its my personal prefrence no to have one.

If I were to drop my bike in my garage and cause serious damage, I would call my insurance company for repairs, and no they wouldnt raise my rate since I've been a customer with them for so long and because I have so many policies with them. I have my business insurance, home owners (2 homes), 4 cars, 3 motorcycles, and my shop is insured by them......And I am young, naive, and at times stupid. I'm 32. I've been riding motorcycles since I was 5 years old. I own my own business and consider myself pretty sucessful.....But based on a couple posts on a forum, you were able to judge me and determine the fact that I am stupid. I know many people who would do anything to be as stupid as me.

I still have yet to see where you acutally replied to this thread to help me in my search of an alternative. If you are posting in threads just to call out people, maybe this isnt the place for you. Go join a debate forum.

Not a bad idea. Still a little too crash bar looking for me though. I might fab something up as well. I am thinking about making my own Cruise Mark style peg mounts for Street Glide floor boards.

Look a little harder on the Kury website, they have arms for the swept floorboards
