Default Highway peg alternatives

I'd like to have highway pegs on my Street Glide, but I hate the look of the crash bar, its not on the bike and not going back on either.

I've been looking at these but I am pretty sure they wont work with the stock FLHX floor boards. I like how they dont stick out really far, and the peg can fold up as to not trip everyone walking by the bike.

Any suggestions to something similar?

Get rid of the floorboards. Get regular pegs with forward controls. May or may not be what ur after but I've seen it done.

I think that the mounting system may decrease ground clearance. I don't know just asking,
it looks like it would work. Being 5 foot 7, and short on inseam they may work for me also,
but mounting something under the floor boards may take away a little ground clearance. I've
lowered the bike and do scrape some now and then, but I am going to look in to them too.

First of all, IMHO, the engine guard is not an accessory. It's there for a reason.

Secondly, based upon the Kuryakyn description, the pegs mentioned by the OP will only fit SG Trikes.

Thirdly, any of the flip-type highway pegs may be fine for the boulevard or super slab cruising, but they reduce cornering clearance significantly and can be dangerous in the twisties!

My $.02.

I use the Jacknife pegs. I have long legs and these make the ride extremely comfortable, i lke the stretched low position much better than the high mount on the crashbars.
Fat Baggers Inc offers them, I can't remember the name of the company that makes them, I bought them on eBay.

I had the Kuryakyn Mark IIIs on my Fat Boy. now while I wasn't the most aggressive rider in the bunch, they never gave me any problems.

First, do you setup your bike for an accident? Personally I dont intend on going down and dont build my bike to do so......Never have understood that one, I have insurance for a reason.

The flip pegs by kuryakyn have hinges in them to fold up should they hit the ground. I doubt they would be any more dangerous than my wide glide pegs that hit the ground all the time. I know Dyna owners who scrape their outer primary all the time!

oops... don't think you read the ad... says they ALSO fit trikes.

then the ad says:

Fits: ‘84-‘11 Electra Glides (except FLHTCU, FLHTK, ‘04-‘05 FLHTCSE & ‘06-‘11 FLHTCUSE), ‘84-‘91 FLTC Tour Glides, ‘98-’11 Road Glides (except ‘09 FLTRSE, '10-'11 FLTRX, '11 FLTRUSE), ‘94-‘11 Road Kings (except ‘04-‘07 FLHRS, ‘07-‘08 FLHRSE), ’10-'11 Street Glide Trikes & ‘86-‘08 FLST/FLSTC, ’90-’11 FLSTF, ‘93-’96 FLSTN, ’97-’03 FLSTS, ’05-’07 FLSTSC
IMPORTANT: ’84-’08 TOURING MODELS REQUIRE SUPPORT KIT (P/N 4533)

kinda covers just about all, huh?
