07 starting issue
After riding for an hour or longer I'll stop get gas, turn ignition switch to on, everything powers up. Hit the starter button and there's a click then nothing. No power to anything, no lights, no radio, no nothing, completely dead. The first time this happened i thought it was a bad battery and had a friend come by with some jumper cables and we jumped it and home i went. Got home and it would start fine, I ride back and forth to work and no problems. I replaced the battery and thought that was the end of it. Well went for a long ride today and just before i got home i stopped to get gas, went to start it and the same thing happened, click then nothing, no power. I was close to home and was able to get my truck up to the store so i could jump it, but when i tried to start it again it fired right up. This has happened 3 times in the last few months. Seems to happen after a long ride and bike is hot. Any ideas........
I chased a similar problem with my '04 Dyna for several years. Finally found the problem to be a faulty ignition switch. I blasted it with a shot of CRC Electrical Contact Cleaner and I haven't had the problem since. Not sayin' this is your issue but it's an inexpensive and easy try.
yea, Ive checked all connections and everything seems ok. If it was a bad starter or something i would think it would do it at different times not just when its hot and why would i lose all power, no lights or anything
i have an 07, same thing happened to me for a while, till it would not start, after lookig around for 2 hours it was the starter bolts were loose, and not alot but it was enough to not make a ground, i torqued them down and works great.

TSB M-1231 covers starter issues for '06 Dynas and '07 touring bikes. I re-torqued my starter bolts as per the TSB and haven't had any problems to date. That won't help if power is out everywhere on the bike, but is given as a FWIW.

The fact that you have no power to anything " no lights, no radio, no nothing, completely dead" makes me think that you have either a bad ignition switch, or a bad main circuit breaker( which resets itself after it cools down). Both of these problems have been persistant issues. Both problems display the symptoms which you describe. I am inclined to go with the circuit breaker if the problem surfaces when you have a lot of accessories on when you try to start it. The circuit breaker will make an audible ping noise when it trips. It will also make a slight snap when it resets. If that doesn't fix it, don't overlook the ignition switch they have been a problem for years.
been there done that i replaced the cable from the battery to the starter
the best i rember is the wires croded into inside the lug that bolts to the
starter there may be 3 or 4 wires still together but the few wires cant handle
the load. For some reason i pulled on the cable and it pulled into at the starter lug
