Plenty of take offs out there if you look. Complete gasket set for the camshest and rocker boxes was bought on EBay for 21 bucks. Set of bearings from the dealer, full compliment, was 15 bucks. Picked up an inner cam bearing remover/installer for 104 bucks.

New oil pump...not necessary. Adjustable pushrods...not necessary. Lifters...not necessary. Do you change a cam every time you change a lifter? Nope. No need to replace roller lifters. Disclaimer: if you have 40K or more I'd replace them simply because they are rollers and rollers do wear and get sloppy. 100 dollar insurance policy by replacing them. Low mileage motor = not needed to replace.

Bottom line is this can be done for around 300 bucks of you're smart and do it yourself. How you tune it and how much that costs is up to you. But for just the mechanical end of the mod you can do it for around 3 C notes if you look around. No need to spend big bucks on such a simple mod.
Ain't gunna put used parts in my bike, Seen guy's at bike ralleys in burnout pits and hitting revlimiters till exhaust glows so if you want to buy those cams your choice, $500 for cams, pushrods and bearings, get what ya pay for.. I did all work myself. but remember you have to have the bearing puller guy who has local shop loaned me his...

Bought mine on ebay $75, not a scratch on em. went with SE adjustable push rods, replaced all the O rings, timkens, bought the puller on Ebay for $90, new shoes for the chains (you'd think HD would sell the glide seperate but they dont.) dont forget exhaust gaskets. If I had it to do again I would have (will) replace the lifters... inspect the oil pump, any scratches or scoring replace it, new oil filter, oil, cam cover gasket, plugs, I have a PCV with autotune from fuel moto modded to work on my 08 so I didnt need the dyno. comes on around 2 pulls strong to 4 which is where I ride. lost some mileage or I twist it more, cant really say.

08 ultra
big sucker
monster ovals
fullsac duals
power commander 5 w/ autotune
SE255's

Here are some write ups on cam swaps:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ams-intro.html

My write up above, tw6....Had valve train noise after swap....my adjustable pushrods are rubbing the insides of the tubes and I had to change my front lifters. I have adjusted the tapping pretty much out, but can still hear the rubbing. So I recommend new lifters, and tapered pushrods, and easier access tubes that lift higher. I will do all this winter with quality lifters - HQ or Wood.

The TW6 cams "PULL" great! Whole lot more pep through all gears!

There is also an excellent video out there on the cam swap.

I am running Rush slip ons.1.75 in the left, 2.25 in the right with torque tubes on my 2007 ultra. The left pipe doesn't ever warm up and right heats up stuff in my bag. I've dine the 103 stage 2 upgrade with 255s. It sounds awesome at 2100 rpm. When my buds are frigging around I usually pass them unless they get a run on me. When I'm passing them and they are into there throttle, they can hear me coming about three bikes back. When I wack it, it opens up and really comes to life. Love the cams and the pipes.

Like I said, don't expect much more than 80 something HP. I have seen them go better than 85 but mid 80s is typical for a 96" motor with stock heads. 100+TQ is no problem; have seen many go 103-106.
