Default Converting 08' and up TBW to standard Throttle Cable???

Hello everyone,

I'm checking to see if there is a brand or company out there that makes a kit that converts 08' and up Harley's that have Throttle by wire back to standard throttle cable (idle cable as well, if applicable)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That would be nice. I would definitely buy one. I hate Harley TBW.

As one with 39,000 miles on my '08 TBW bike, I can't understand why anyone would want to go back to a throttle cable. I've never had a problem with TBW but I have had broken throttle cables over the years.

Sure hope someone has the solution. TBW is much too sensative and makes swapping handlebars way too expensive.

Wouldn't the solution be to buy an older bike that didn't have TBW?
If you want a newer bike, you should accept the newer technology that goes with it.

Gentleman,

Thank you for your input. Apparently my computer didn't post the original thread I started but then it showed up after a "reboot".. Regardless, thank you for all the responses, I truly appreciate your time.

I hate the TBW in my `09 FLHT.

IMO,not as responsive as cables.

I also hate the TBW in my `03 Powerstroke.

My next bike will most likely be a pre `08.Love my buddies `05 Ultra.

Mine's in the shop for the 4th time getting repaired.

I like it when it's working. There's no cables showing and gives the handlebars a cleaner look. The throttle response time is not a problem for me-the down time is. I guess some work better than others.

I would guess that there's been a lot more TBW problems than throttle cable problems.

I don't know of a kit, but all the parts needed your dealer can get.
