Mine came in Friday and I will install them next week. Did you take the additional 5% summer discount?

my 08 streetglide was horrible to ride until i got a pair of take off shocks from my friend's 09 roadglide, an inch longer than my 08 sg shocks. that made a huge improvement in ride. sure the low look is popular, but while riding, i don't want my bike's suspension to hammer me.

I have these shocks on my Street Glide now. They are way better than the factory air shocks!
Even my wife (who normally won't comment on any changes I make to the bike) mentioned how much better the ride was.

Yep, these are what I have. I went with the standard height shocks.
I really can not tell any difference in the ride height sitting on the bike.

Since they are longer, I am sure if I parked next to a factory 12" shock bike I might see a little difference.
I say that, because by itself you really can't tell.

The much better ride was well worth it.

Anytime you "lower" a bike (or any vehicle for matter), you reduce the amount of suspension travel.
In order to prevent bottoming out with that reduced travel, manufacturers make the suspension stiffer.

Ohlins 2-2a are a 12" shock with a 83mm stroke , this is the longest stroke I've seen in a 12" shock and would produce a smooth ride

It is their superior damping over most other shock brands which give them a smooth ride. The extra travel simply helps deal with bigger bumps!

I have 13" #3-3s, with 'only' 77mm travel, but even better quality damping, which are quite wonderful.

I too have the 3-3s but adjusted them down to 12 3/4" length and couldn't agree more on the quality of the ride
