Just got my 940 progressive shocks and installed them, sat on the bike and noticed how hard the suspension felt. Took it for a spin and felt like I was on a tractor I checked the adjustment and its at the softest setting. These shocks are way too stiff for what I am looking for, the ride quality was good but too stiff. I will be calling PHAT performance to see if I can exchange these for something else like the 440's.
I have a 2009 road king and am looking for a softer ride better than the 13" stock shocks that I have with no bottoming out. Before i took off the stock shocks I bled out the 5w fluid and added 7w ride was better but not soft enough, and the 13 inch stock shocks with 7w fluid ride better than the 940's do btw. I also have 40lbs of fairing installed in the front that sits the front down about half an inch so I would like a lower sitting shock say like 12.5" that R.I.D.E.S S.O.F.T. Will the 440's at 12.5" get me there? This suspension deal is really giving me a headache.
i blew my stock shocks out on yhe way to vegas bike week shocks where having problems to begin with . but the ride to vegas finished them off any way i called red rock harley in vegas to see if they had time to fix the issue. i take the bike in the service writer takes in the back for the tech to check it out comes out and offers me the harley premium shocks those are the shocks that come on the CVO streetglide i paid $150.00 differance between the 2 and got a hell of a ride screw aftermarket
Even on the softest setting I found the 940s way too stiff for solo riding at 180 lbs on a 2010 Streetglide. I would talk to progressive and let them know what you are looking for in terms of ride and I am sure they can help set you up with a great shock.

Same weight as you and same exact problem. I know for sure the shocks are not bottoming out they seem to only have a 1/2" range of travel when i hit a bump the ride really sucks. I have already taken them off and put on my stock shocks these 940's are for heavier bikes with heaver riders.
Ill give you 200 cash for them...lol Just kidding. Sorry about the headache. I have the 440s and am not real happy with them.
Then you would hate these then, I think they are much stiffer then the 440's. The tech told me they have been swapping out the two spring system on the 940's to a one spring system to get them to ride better.
