Default 2007 RECALL REMAP INITIAL IMPRESSION

Just had the remap completed for the recall, I did notice right off the bat that lower RPM's don't lag I was use to throttling quickly when starting off to stop the lag NOTE: If you did this don't after remap because it goes no more lagging and a little more get up and go with almost 4,000 miles I know my bike pretty well and I can say it's made a significant difference in the lower RPM's. Man it's even greater to ride it now! I'll let you know my impression on the highway miles tomorrow!

Got mine downloaded Saturday, but crappy weather until at least next weekend. Gunrunner apparently liked his.

Sorry to ask a dumb question.. But what recall? I've not received a letter from HD stating there was one...

Does anyone know of where we can go to view the recall? I thought there was a thread sometime back and the bottom line was there wasn't but since I'm asking silly questions, I figure what the heck. Might as well as a second one! :-)

Gunrunner,do you think this new map is just a timing change between 1000 to 2000 rpms?Have you read your current PC111 map vs old map for comparison?I contacted powercommander about current maps on his site and what changes would be needed for those of us with new factory installs. No word back yet.

Did you leave the PCIII on the bike or take it off before you took it to the dealer? If you left it on, what did the dealer say about it?

Gunrunner,

I'll throw in with Pittguy - would be very interested to know about the ECM upgrade and its influence on the tuner. Your comments about the bike running better after the ECM update are interesting, because I would have thought that the PCIII would have made the update unnecessary. I have the V&H FuelPak and didn't think that I would bother with the ECM update until I read your comments. I'll fire off an email to V&H and see what they say...

Go to the other thread, possible 07 recall it has a print out of the recall, you can go to harleys website and enter your vin to see if your bike is included,

Ok, first question, yes I left my pcIII in place, read my last post in the possible recall thread i tell what i told them., next the pc III was not messed with, the factory ecm was flashed thru a access port so they never touched either one. The map on the pcIII is exactly as it was since it comes after the ecm, and it will never change untill you hook it up and remap it. I think the flash adjusts the timing curve only, on the pcIII usually those maps dont do much to the timing and leave timing set to the stock settings the ecm has. This is why it didnt effect the fuel mixture and why it runs better due to exactly what moco calls it " torque smoothing" it does do that, I would get it done with your vand h fuelpak and bet it works the same way with it.
