It doesn't seem that the owner was too willing to work with you or help you out when he had the opportunity to do so..

But yeah i think the 4.25" wide rim on pre 09 bike is the issue as well
Your issue isn't the wheel width, it's the hub width. I've been running a 4.25" on the back of my 07 for 4 years. No issues at all.

yeah i know its a hub issue.

what im saying is he must not sell alot of 18 x 4.25" wheels to pre 09 street glide owners, or he would have known what hub to put in it in the first place.

new hub is on the way though so hopefully all will be fine

i wouldnt say he wasnt willing to work with me. he got the front wheel situated for me, and sent me a set of matching rotors for free.

as for the rear, he took all of my many phone calls and is sending the new hub out which i hope will cure my issue.

What about over all quality and turn around on their products? I see some really satisfied posters. I am looking at all options right now as i had planned Ride Wright laced rims but now thinking different for personal reasons.

i think the quality of the wheels are great. turn around time... front wheel took forever, but that was because it was spring. rear wheel took about 2 weeks.

i did get my rear wheel issues solved... they put the wrong hub in it as well.
so 2 wheels, 2 wrong hubs.
i do like these wheels alot, but it was a damn hassel dealing with it

I hear you on that. I saw your issues and was hoping that your worries wouldn't be my own being the differences in our hubs and all. Did you ever decide for sure to go back to the 18"?

i ended up staying with the 21" up front after i got everything straightened out with the wheel

the rear i went to an 18 x 4.25" and it finally fits after they sent me the right hub for it as well.

i love the way it looks, and it handles pretty good as well.

i think SMW makes a very very nice wheel, and you cant beat it for the money. BUT if you have problems like i did it doesnt really make it worth it.

but if you come away with no issues, which id say 95% of people who have bought them havent, then youll be more than pleased.

overall im very happy with the wheels, just not the issues of getting them to fit. they should have came ready to bolt on, not having to send back or take somewhere, and then get new a new hub sent out.
