I replaced the rear pads when I put a new tire on this last September. That was at 18,000 miles. The pads still seemed to be in good shape but I figured I had the tire off so why not. I'm going to change out the stock front rotors this winter for some chrome ones. Although they don't look bad I'll change the pads out then too.

simply stated it depends on 1) solo or two up & 2) the type riding you do, city or interestate and also "how" you use them.
