+1 for the common sense crowd. If liquid cooled engines run so much cooler, i challenge you to go grab onto your valve cover in your cage after driving home from work. if it burns you, by all means...start a class action lawsuit. the engine is obviously dangerous! ban all engines!!!! bicycles all around! or not, if you get your fingers caught in the chain, you might get pinched! it is a neanderthal and outdated propulsion system! it has the potential to hurt you! just like thinking has the potential to give you a headache. obviously the folks that put this lawsuit together didn't do much of that...

i've owned a liquid cooled bike. it was so hot it was sick. hotter than my HD, and when the fans kicked on, i wanted to get off the thing.
My old Honda cruiser was so hot. At a stop light I could barely stand it

Back in the '80's my '85 BMW K100RT was liquid cool but it was the hottest mc I ever owned. My present CVO was running hot but not as bad as the Beemer. Once I removed the cat and mod it to Stage lll it cooled down to where this past weekend on a toy run I didn't even notice the heat down here in South FL.

You can't send them to Yamaha, they make a couple of air cooled bikes also. So they should be sued also, BTW I also have a Honda VTX, it may be liquid cooled, but on a hot day it will burn you also, and the placement of the exhaust pipes is suspect, maybe I should sue Honda.

Abuse of the legal system. Ride in your car if it's too hot. That's what I would say if I had an opinion that is...

This kind of judicial logic is indicative of the state of our country. We have allowed nonsense to propagate for so long, that it is now in avalanche mode. HDs are not perfect, nor is any other motorcycle. I believe common sense will prevail, but at what cost?

I'd like to think that common sense will prevail but it seems common sense is not a very common virtue these days. There are too many victims who can't or won't be responsible for their own actions no matter how foolish their own contributions were. E.g., like the guy's wife who sued the hairdryer company when her husband used the dryer while in the pool to clean out his filter and was electrocuted, or the guy who sued the power company when he received severe electrical burns while up a power pole engaged in copper theft.

These people were actually awarded $$ by the courts. As long as our system of jurisprudence rewards this kind of stupidity, there will be no shortage of idiots and lawyers filing suit. The sad thing about it is that the cost of these law suits result in increased prices for the goods and products we purchase to pay the attorney and court fees. The cost is passed on to us and we all end up getting screwed in the end.
