Default wheel Oxidation

Noticed some oxidation on my mag wheels on my SG. Any recommendations on cleaning compounds ? I thought about using naval jelly (use it on my farm equipment ) but didn't thinking it would be too harsh on the aluminum .

I am planning on powder coating the wheels this spring, so some discoloration is cool if it happens.

Are these spoke wheels or cast Harley wheels?

If you're talking about the "polished" part on the edges and the hub, then you can take some aluminum polish and just rub it out, lol. It comes up pretty easily.

It looks clear coated but it streaks something fierce when washed with some harsher chemicals.

The cast wheels are bare and need protecting. HD sells a protectant wipe for the bare aluminum, not sure if it really works. All I can say is if you do buy it keep the container in a sealed ziploc bag. They evaporate quickly and you'll have dried tissues in no time.

If you're having them powdercoated in the spring, I wouldn't do a thing to them.

Mother's Aluminum polish works great. Just do the bare aluminum not the painted. I do mine about once a month during riding season and keeps them looking new.
