Its being taken apart to confirm there is no other problem, then it's wait and see what Harley Tech Support says on if they will authorize the work. I spoke with Harley Customer Service and got a reference number for my dealer to call once they know for sure the extent of the issue. Hopefully they can convince Harley to stand behind their product

You have a Part Number " one piece bearing"

What was the sound like when the bearing went, did the bike run funny , shifting hard ??????

Here's Bakers PART#:http://www.bakerdrivetrain.com/drive...htorqueBearing
Here's Napa's #'s: bearing #6205-2zj Seal#: 25x52x7tc

As for the noise its like shaking a can of small ball bearings in oil. I described it in the thread you referenced.

Mine went out at about the same time while I was in the mountains of NC. The dealership tore it down and told me it was in the transmission and I would need to wait for the parts to come in. I rode it back to Florida with it making all sorts of noises and my Indy had it figured out in about 5 seconds...He could not believe the dealership took it apart past the clutch basket and was either trying to rip me off or was totally incompetent.

I now have 39,000 on it and also had to replace the Compensator.

Great Info. Thanks

Bearing was shot and rear seal on the bearing was leaking ....

See Pictures - do I need to replace the shaft race or just a good 100grit sand paper the roughness out ??

The sound was: In Netural at idle, sounded like a air leak, directly coming from the primary area, when I pulled clutch, shifted gear, it went away....

You have to replace both the inner race and outer bearing to keep with OEM and you need a special puller OR take a dremmel and cut the inner race off and get a one piece bearing and press it into the inner primary.

Race puller #620060 $133.50
