Default Upcoming installs!

I finally got the 4" Bad Dad extensions that I've been wanting forever! So Monday I'm taking the bags in for fitment and paint and getting the HD speaker lids painted. When I get it back, I'll be installing the ipod interface kit, saddlebag speakers and audible alarm for the security system. I've been sitting on a couple of these parts for a month now! It's been killing me!

Did you get extensions or extended bags?

Extensions, I wanted the full bags, but just hate to shell out the money for them!

Precision. Hope you don't mind a couple questions. On the ipod interface, where do you plan to keep your ipod? Is the a handle bar mount

I haven't done any painting yet on my bike. I know it can vary painter to painter but what do you estimate the cost to repaint the bags?

Thanks for the help

Sweet. Let us know how the bags cone out. Just ordered mine along with the summit rear fender. Was gonna do full bags but since mine had some scratches on the bottom didnt think I would get much out of them to recoop the price of new. Plus the added space they have is not an issue with me. While im doing the bags I will be flushmounting my tailights in them as well as soon as I figure out what I want.lol

Well, I bought the HD Boom interface kit, with the extension to take it to the bags. It will mount in the right saddlebag. It's going to be identical to the new CVO's.

Oh, and they quoted me about $650 to fit the extensions, and paint the lids and bags.

Not a huge fan of extensions, but the Bad Dad ones are BY FAR the nicest looking. If your paint guy is good, you won't be able to tell the difference.

I just received my 2" extensions today.... and they're going back! The quality looks fine, but the fitment portion will be a lot of work, and they don't exactly fit right.

They will need to be fit to the bags, then modified for the dual exhaust openings, as there is quite a clearance issue.

BTW... I checked around the Twin Cities area, and have had quotes reange from $200 to $300 to paint w/PPG Black (to match Harley Vivid Black). These were from guys that paint bikes on the side (former body-shop guys) and one from a custom bike shop. I'm very careful with what I will accept as a painter.
