Anybody see this happen to their tire?

I took it off to polish the rotors and install chrome lowers. When I went to put it back on I saw this. Good news is I contacted the dealer and sent them an e-mail and on Tuesday there are replacing the tire under warranty.

 

That's a new one on me. Do you know how many readers are running out to the garage right now?

 

By the picture it looks like nothing more than a superficial mark in the rubber. Certainly nothing I'd worry about. Can you spread it open? How deep does it go? It's hard to tell from the pic.

But then again, if you get a new tire under warranty, you can't complain about that. If when they see it they change their tune, I wouldn't lose any sleep over running that tire the way it is.
