the idea of a restriction to flow ( the flapper) which is removed under low vacuum is nonsensical.
Have you ever looked at a Hypercharger other than in a catalog? There is a large opening in the bottom that will flow more than sufficient air even if the "flappers" are totally closed. Since the "flappers" are controlled by manifold vacuum, as the engine needs more air they open wider.

And no, I don't run a Hypercharger, I'm a SE user.

For years I thought I had to have one because they look so cool. I finally installed one on my Sportster at the time and disabled the rediculous flapper thing. I rode it 10 miles and took it off. The reduction in performance was significant over a SE set up. It is probably not worse than stock but not better. If you don't care about performance, I still think they look way cool, but for me it's about Max flow.

I had a Hypercharger on a Sportster years ago and dug it. I was planning to put the wider one on my present bike but looking at the mounting instructions it would require me to remove the throttle body and drill something out for the vacuum feed. I decided that was not a good thing to do. But I still like the looks of the wider model. The intake flaps are cool and look like the air scoops on top fuel dragsters. Which suck a crap load more air, by the way, than our little 2 bangers even with "nonsensical flaps".

I guess to answer the question you asked... There are quite a few companies that sell an A/C setup. I purchased mine from Fuelmoto. The Ness big sucker is another as is PM or RSD. You might also check out Wimmer. There are a couple of HD SE variants. I run an open breather i.e. no cover over the k&n filter. I won't say that there is any performance benefit over the football but I like the way it looks. I've never had any issues with rain and I have never used a rain sock. Know that once you change the A/C and the exhaust you should probably remap.

Personally, I wouldn't add anything Kury as a performance mod. Way better options out there.

I don't even really like Kury products as cosmetic parts either. Just my opinion.

I ran one on an 06 LowRider. Bike performed "okay".
I would not put one on another bike of mine. Moving parts...........I had diaphragm issues which caused the flappers to not work. Also threw a map sensor error twice. The vacuum "adapter" they provide made me feel like I was jury rigging this thing on my bike.

Thanks for all of your input guys.
I made up my mind and ordered an A/C from Renegade in the Whistler style from SlickCustoms.com because it matches my wheels and won't take up as much room as a Hypercharger would. It is round, looks to be a similar setup as a heavy breather and uses a K&N filter. I've always had good experiences with K&N air filters so we will see how it works out when it arrives.

I'll be making an effort to take some pictures of my bike with my real camera to add to my profile since I don't know how to upload pics from my phone yet.

Wheels down.
