Default Hypercharger?

I ran a Hypercharger Pro on my last bike which was an 03 VTX 1800 with great results. I now have an 06 Road Glide with a PCIII and Rinehart 3 1/2" True Duals.

Has anyone run a Hypercharger on a TC88? If so how did it work out?

Thanks

If you like the look then go for it. Don't do it as a performance mod. Its a very inefficient A/C. Not my cup of tea but its your bike.

I did like the look of it on the VTX and it seemed like a seat of the pants improvement off the line on that bike. But that bike was a torque monster anyway.

What are some of the better A/C add on's for these bikes?

I've always wondered what the attraction is of an air cleaner with moving parts. Doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

Any freer flowing AC would have been an improvement. Hard to say you'd have felt any difference between that and a more conventional AC like and SE AC or one of the open ones like a Roland Sands or FuelMoto AC.

But again, the flappers on the thing seems to me like useless machinery that to the un-trained eye looks impressive (probably reminds people of their 60's hot rods when they took their air cleaner off and watched the intake open and close), but only adds reliability problems. There's no reason to *close* the flap, so why have any flaps at all?

I ran one on my last bike for 5 1/2 years with no reliability issues and the flappers worked fine the whole time. Most eyes are untrained I suppose and the reason we all add things to the visible parts of our bikes is because it looks good.
I'm just looking for feedback on whether something like one of these with a K&N filter is less efficient than one of the other, more conventional aftermarket brands.

My buddy has one on his VTX1800 and he swears by it. To be fair he has had that bike for eight years, and has not had one issue with either the Hypercharger or anything else on that bike. And the thing is a beast.

hype-charger has flow numbers only slightly higher than stock- it is "shiny junk".

the idea of a restriction to flow ( the flapper) which is removed under low vacuum is nonsensical.

there was one test some years ago that showed a cupped hand flow better than a hype-charger.

it is marketed to unsophisticated owners- not unlike many products from that brand.

----------

But for the stock air cleaner, the hype-charger and no air cleaner at all, virtually all aftermarket air cleaners will allow more flow than the motor could ever demand.

the better bang for buck is the ness big sucker, which has a K&N type washable, oiled reusable filter media.

I had one on a bike for a couple weeks then ebayed it, for me it stuck out too far, my knee was always pushing on it and I didn't think it did anything performance wise above my SE AC
