Default Got the Front Spots and Passing lamps Powdercoated WHAT A PAIN

Man Is it me or did HD really screw the pooch on there wiring design? If i messed up let me know but It seemed to take apart the spots and turn signals I had to cut and spice all the connections due to connectors not being able to pass through OEM holes, as if they plummed all the wiring and then placed the connections. Anyway after 3 hours sodering and slicing wires, I got everything back together, still working on a ground issue on the left turn signal Powder coat got in the base and isnt giving a good solid ground.
sorry for the crappy pic all I could get ATM

soldered connections don't hold up well over time.

the wire strands tend to break right where the tinning ends.

work on getting those grounds good, even if it means running a ground wire from the bulb socket- poor grounding will cause bulb failure.

I agree, what a pain!!

I did the same on my buddy's Road King, since he has NO mechanical ability. Getting everything aligned and square upon reassembly takes patience! I don't want to do that again...

Just de-pin the wires from the connectors, no need to cut anything. Plenty of write ups on how to do it.

I PC'd mine gloss blass, just put it back together last night. I ended up cutting the wires and soldering them back. I also took a razor and scraped off PC for an hour to get a good ground. Haven't hooked her up yet but keeping fingers crossed. You're right, it was a PITA!

There are times when a mod isn't worth the trouble it takes to do, or the hassle it is getting it back together. THAT'S when I bring it in to the shop!
Lights look great, though. Especially black against the white.
