I got a HD Backrest Mounting Plate for the back of the passenger back rest as an early stocking stuffer. After taking off the original plate and putting the new one on, I found that the outside grooves of the new one don't line up with the uprights on the sissy bar. Is this common or do I have a defect? The part number is 52825-05 and it says it will fit all touring models with a passenger back rest. I have the '07 Road King Classic. Seems like the simplest of add-ons becomes a bit==h when I try to do it.

I have the 53086-04 the billet aluminum. Mine does not fit perfectly. There is some discrepancy
between the bored out ends of the cover and where the round stock is aligned on the seat back.
It really sucks to spend that kind of $$$$$ and it not fit correctly.
