I use S100 engine black restore. Spray it on, let it sit overnight, then wash off. Lasts for months and looks almost like a painted fairing.

Stop....hold it ..... cease and desist. If you are getting it painted... DON'T use anything. It won't go dead that quick. And anything you put on it will be there next winter to **** off the painter. I was a painter for 25 years. Nothing pisses off a painter like fisheye from silicone. Silicone is in a lot of the "easy" shine products.

since you are planning and having it painted, stay away from anything with silicone in it.

I would listen to Shooter. Just wash it with soap and water. The $10 bottle of cleaner could cost you a lot more next year.

+1 for 303 Aerospace Protector. It's so great you can use it on your tire tread. Lasts a long time on your dash unlike other shiners. It's the real deal from the aviation industry. Worth every penny.

Default Inner fairing... the whole bike.

+1 on the Aerospace Protectant. Expensive but works extremely well. Also, for the short term, a great in-between cleaning product: Bugslide. It's another "no silicone or petroleum" based product. I spray a squirt or two on a microfiber towel and wipe. No streaks, leaves a nice shine, easy and melts away bugs.

Good luck.
