I'll just keep my AAA Premier with RV coverage.
It tows me to the dealer and I'm a happy camper.
Good for local and Road Trips.

If that's what you like, that's fine. I NEVER take my bikes to stealerships.. So whatever it takes to get home.

Is there anyone, anyone out there that has used this kind of fix before.....anyone at all???? I am not talking about the folks trying to sell it. I am talking about real riders that have used this product.

If I were you Doc, I'd forget about it.
It threads in there so you don't need a lot of tools. Just assemble it and go. Basic tools to splice the belt.
Emergency use only.
My oldest belt has over 100k miles. Never had a problem or changed any belt.

Not much interest it seems. Belts just don't fail that often despite what you hear.

That repair kit only worked for the original 1 1/2" wide belts IIRC. Later narrower ones are a lot tougher and we have also gained confidence in them generally, which was understandably lacking back in the '80s when belts were first introduced.

Kinda thought the original band-aid kit was interesting. With that diagonal cut, and perhaps little screws? Maybe they were pins. Either way, it didn't seem to put the same stress on two teeth that the other splice kits do.

As I vaguely recall, wasn't the band-aid kit designed to go on without having to move the rear wheel?

I think it was intended as a get-u-home road-side repair kit, rather like a space-saver tyre.
