Well, Bill03E, let me explain a little better. Both shocks can be custom tailored to you and your bike. Where I feel the Works are a little better and more adjustable is when you plop an additional 135lb passenger and 30-40lbs of luggage on the bike and take out on a long tour. The Ohlins I have can only provide a little bit more preload by turning the collars with the supplied tools. The Works ARS is easier to adjust and from stiffest to firmest setting I feel more difference with the Works.

Bigskyhd, unfortunately, they aren't cheaper. I think you'll end up paying at least $550 for a set.

btw, I think the Ohlins are a great product and feel Howard is a top notch vendor. Not saying they are better or worse than Works. Just commenting on what I found when switch form solo to 2-up.

I used to race a Moto Cross quad, I had Ohlins on the front, broke one in a race so I bought a set of remote resie Works shocks to race the next race, they were pretty good but not the Ohlins, and they were much cheaper.
Oh ,and I am not one of the people who praise Howard or anything, I have not bought shocks from him, and not sure that I will.

So are works

I have a set on my FXDX, but not my road king so my data isn't for a touring frame. However, the works is a night and day difference from the progressives that were on the FXDX when I bought it. I would expect it would be similar on a touring frame.

No data on Ohlins though.

The price is on their web site. see:

If it is for a bagger I would get the steel trackers. The bags hide them so no need to spend extra for the chrome or black versions - at least I wouldn't

Standard length (13") steel trackers with ARS is listed as $629. The street/black version is $729. With a bagger I would get the ARS version to quickly switch the preload between 1 and 2 up. You can do the same adjusting the preload (at least that what they told me when I ordered them for the dyna), but it takes more effort. The ARS simply switches between two preloads.
