I remember going through this procedure when I first got my 2008 Ultra last year and everything worked as it should as far as arming and disarming the EITMS system. Recently my idle has become a little erratic and I was curious as to whether the system was armed or not. When following the procedure I cannot get the cruise indicator lamp to come on at all. In the past year I have added a Thundermax tuner and changed the grips. Would the addition of the tuner have an effect on the EITMS system or could I have possibly installed the grip incorrectly on the throttle by wire system? Any info would be appreciated.

Easy answer: Thundermax replaced your ECM and isn't capable of EITMS. I contacted Zippers to see if a future firware upgrade would enable EITMS and was told (no) that Thundermax didn't need it because your bike runs cooler with the tuner. Bottom line, if you have a Tmax installed, your EITMS is non-functional so the cruise indicator light won't light up either.
Edit: if your idle is erratic, follow the Tmax reset procedures and make sure you don't touch the throttle in the process.
