I'm 6'0" the 8" Freedom seems to put about the same wind on me as the stock 12" maybe even a little less. The 12" put the top of the shield right in the line of sight when I was relaxed. I looked over it when I sat straight up though... I like the looks of the 8" for sure. A friend of mine got the 10" when we hook up next I may do a bike swap to see the difference. But wind did not get any worse than the Stock shield. But Luckily with Freedom, if you get the 8" you can do a test ride before taking the protective layer off, and if it's not right you can return it for a different size... a real class act right there.

I'm pretty Darned happy with the look with the tour pack off. Kind of a Street Glide in a Tux look. Next thing is to try to lower it if I can score some 12" shocks and figure out which method I want to use to lower the front. Want to go an inch front and back.

I know it's a long shot and this post is realllllllllyyyyy old but do you remember the kit you used for your tour pack quick detach? Have an 08' as well and want to do the same.
