Everyone, thanks for the help so far. Got the outer faiing off, the wires disconnected and the speaker adaptor from the inner fairing.Struggling with getting the speakers from the adaptor. I dont want to force anything but I cannot seem to get the speakers out of the adaptor. Again, as a wrench challenged forum memberI turn to the masses for direction. Thanks....

I did my 07 SG, no problem. The connectors on the speakers is very tight, had to give it a good yank to get them off. Just pull on the connector not the wires The speakers came out without any problems, if I remember correctly there are 3 screws holding them in, make sure there all off.

I haven't gone into my fairing yet, my Hogtunes are on the way. Let me know if you get it figured out.

Oh, you do have the manual right?

If the speaker doesn't fall off into your hands you haven't removed all the fasteners.

My adaptor had little catches on it. If you hold it with one of the catches against your body and the other facing away, hold the speaker by the magnet and spread the catch just enough to get it out you should be fine, after one side is out the speaker should just come right out. The catches look like two L peices coming up from adaptor at least thats how they were onmy 02" EG

Thanks BAE. That's it. I was trying to slide them out rather than popping them out.

Once you get the fasteners out (1,2,3) and the brace(4) out of the way(just loosen the fastener on the radio side of the brace to move the brace). With the wires disconected, lift the assembly from the rear of the fairing, (You may have to push lightly on the front of the speaker).

Once the assembly is away from the bike, you then need to locate the two clips and work them to get the speaker loose from the adapter ring.
