Smart Alarm
Mine will make a loud chirp, like the alarm is going to go off, once in a while. Kind of annoying when there's a lot of people around.
My bike will do that every now and then.
Switch it back off and watch the security light on the dash...When the light goes off the bike will start...This has worked for me every time so far.
Don't know if this helps, but I always keep my fob in my left pocket just so it is closer to the security module.
Picked January 1st as my fob battery replacement day....Easy to remember...Its a pain in the @ss if you get off somewhere and the fob battery dies.

Same here. No way to know what's going on, but it seems to be some kind of communication error between the system and the FOB. My 2012 SG's only a month old, and it did that when I was getting ready to ride yesterday. A spanking new SE RG I sat on in the dealer's showroom did it. It's a mystery to me, but it seems to be a common issue, and it doesn't seem to be a problem - it corrects itself right away.
I just put a fresh battery in my second FOB, and still the alarms goes into a fit. And yes, kill switch in on "run" lol. And I have the manual code set up as well. I have the alarm pager so I'll try a new battery in that one and see if that will work. Worse case I think the alarm might need a reprogramming.
Thanks
Thanks
If you check the fob battery with a digital multi-meter with it out of the fob you do not get a accurate reading to it's real condition. There is no load on it this way and when installed in the fob the voltage may actually be pulled down to a unacceptable level.
A few things... If you have a smart siren, always have the fob in a pocket that will be on the same side as the antenna. Make sure your antenna is not grounding against the frame. The way my dealer installed the siren antenna wire, the seat was rubbing against it and wore away insulation.
Also, make sure things like keys (can cause a "shield of the signal") and hotel key cards (magnetic strip can mess things up) and anything else electronic are not in the same pocket as the fob.
