Default Smart Alarm
Today I was planning on taking the bike for my first ride this year. I put the FOB in my pocket, got on the bike, turned the ignition to "on", however all that happened was the alarm went off. Thinking the FOB battery was dead, I tested it and its almost at 100% power. The bike was on a tender since last fall and has lots of voltage. Any ideas what the issue is ??

By chance it isnt the style with the button? I cant remember the year when they switched over to the automatic style fob.

its possible that there is something that is interfering with the signal between the tssm and the fob. easy to check. first, make sure that the fob is not in the same pocket as your cellphone. go to start the bike, if it does not start, then use your security override code (you did set one, right?) to start the bike. go for a ride. stop somewhere, and see if it does it again. if it does, then use your override code again, make another stop, try again. if it fails again, then you definitely have some type of problem with your security and will have to troubleshoot further.

Good preventive maintenance! REPLACE ALL DO HICKY BATTERIES YEARLY! Key FOB, alarm pager, etc.
