Default Nail in tire today

After a great ride today with my better and 6 Legion Rider buddies at the end of the day the bike started to feel loose.when I got home found a screw nail in the back tire, dead center in the tread.Should I plug it or can I use a tire sealer?Stock wheels on the bike.

Ran with a plug in my front tire for over a year - not an issue. Got a Slime kit from Walmart & used as directed.

I put that kit in my bags today. Sure hoping not to need it though...

put a tube in. then run your tire till it needs replaced. some folks will run a rear tire with a plug, and others will replace the tire immediately. regardless if it only has 10 miles on it. i fall in the middle. i don't want to prematurely get a new tire, but i do care about my safety.

Default Plug

Most will tell you not to chance it on a bike. To me though, if it starts to leak air, you will probably see the tire going down when the bike is idle. I would plug it and keep a real close watch on the tire pressure.

I agree with most of the responses-plug it and then keep a close watch on the tire pressure for some time to get comfortable that it has sealed. I ran a plugged tire for several thousand miles without issue.

I plugged my rear tire last sept.. I kept an eye on the inflation for a few weeks and felt it was sealed well. The tire is still on the bike and doesn't leak at all.

Ive plugged every single rear ive ever had on the bike. Litterally. Im like a magnet for nails. Never done a front. Ive had a front tire blow out though at 70+. Scary but not too hard to make it out of safely. Another one of the reasons I think everyone should spend a few years or more on a dirtbike before they take to the streets.

What is it with rear flats? I have had 3 in the last 3 years. Seems the front would pick up the culprit first. One of mine was a nasty slit on a tire with 500 miles on it and needed replaced. I would clean (scrape) the inside of the tire and put a tube in it.
