I'm the exact same size and went with 14" apes - they are perfect. Wild 1's are the best!

I've got a 2010 Streetglide vivid black and I've got the black 12.5" Wild 1s. I'm 6'1" and find the 12.5" about 1-2 Inches below my shoulders. Very comfortable. Everybody kept telling me that I'm gonna wish I went taller; however, I'm very happy with mine and if I had to it over again, I will go back with the same size. Also, I'm still using the stock fairing mirrors, I've got the bars pushed has far forward as they'll go without touching the inner fairing.

I'm 5'8" with a long torso. I had 12.5's but wasn't happy with them so I swapped out for 14's. I have them tilted forward a bit and they're perfect for me. They are just below shoulder level if I'm sitting straight up. If I've been riding for a while and slouching they feel like they're at or a little above my shoulders. For your height you might want to consider 16's. But then again it's all about personal preference

Talk to 4 guys with 12" Paul Yaffee monkey bars this past weekend and all of them saidif they had to do it again they would go with 14" or 16"...Only thing that bothers me about going to apes is the cold weather riding...even with heated gloves...

Yea, I do as much cold weather riding as I do summer. That's a big reason I bought an Ultra ( wind protection). I was fixing to buy the Harley 2" pullback bars but the Monkey bars are looking good to me. If I got the monkeys I would probably have to go with the 10" because my hands get cold very easy.

How much more wind will the hands and arms catch with the 12's verses the 10's?

Also, are the monkey bars comfortable on long trips?

f you want your arms higher than level go with 14's
if you want your arms level go with 12.5's
I agree with this. I have 12.5s and wish I had 14s or 16s.

Don't meet the devil half way!

Man, I can't thank you guys enough! I'm going to go with 14s in black. I am a little concerned with the loss of wind protection from the fairing though - I often ride home at 1am. So I think I"m going to also put on some heated grips while I'm doing this job. Thanks again everyone, HUGE help!
