Default need help please

hi there.
trying to decide on what to do. first, my bike is a 2008 road king classic. it has the 103" upgrade with se255 cams, se stage 1 breather, sert and rinehart true duals. runds good, but when i gun the bike, i here a lot of pinging. when i get above 3000rpm, it sounds like the bike has no oil. also i am on my 4th starter clutch (all ***** racing). was thinking of either S&S easy start cams with S&S pushrods or manual compression releases. also should i switch out the sert and go with a power commander? what should i do? any other suggestions??

any help will be greatly appreciated please!!

Sounds like you need to take it to a good indy shop that knows how to tune a bike.

Roger the tuner who knows what they are doing! Hard to find a good one but well worth the effort.

Sounds like you need compression releases, and then have the SERT tuned in correctly.
I had hot start issues on my FLSTF '07 with a 103 build with 9:8.1 comp.

I'd suggest the S&S east start cams. Less expensive and easy install. 255's are great cams but pretty much demand CR's.

I may have permanently eliminated my pinging problem (same RPM ranges your describing) by retarding the timing in the ranges I was hearing it the most. Have your tuner or hell do it yourself I'm new to it and it's not too tough and can prob figure it out yourself. This is the map showing the ranges I retarded my timing you can use as a guide :

Good luck.....Tucci

Thanks for the suggestions guys. It is very hard around here (Mia., Fl.) finding someone that knows how to tune the SERT. Both dealers that i went to, kept changing the maps and messed something else up. Too expensive to keep taking to different dealers.
I will be doing the Easy Start cams (551CE) and the SE Compensating sprocket (looking at about $1200.00) as soon as i get back in a couple of weeks. Is that a good price with labor included?? I will be researching and probably just take a weekend if i have to drive to get somewhere in Florida just to get this thing tuned correctly.
Tucci, how did you retard the timing??? (i will do a google search also)
