When I bought my 08 in 2010, it had 2400 miles on it. The dealer said the previous owner was "afraid" of it so he hardly rode it. Maybe he was a new rider or maybe it was something else? Regardless, it was a great deal for me.

you do want to make sure it has cruise though cause you are going to use it on the highway!

Having owned two softails and now my SG, I wouldn't go back to a counterbalanced engine. The rubber mounted engines are much smoother at speed than the "B" engines. You don't get that slight buzzing and tingly feeling in your hands.

As for the 08 you are looking at, I wouldn't hesitate on that one.

If everything checks out on the '08 I'd grab it in a heartbeat if I were you.

A good deal is a good deal. There's nothing wrong with the older bikes that can't be fixed. My 07 with some minor mods handles better than my brothers stock 09.

Shakey is right.
Don't worry about vibrating at idle. It will be smooth as silk on the road.

I love my cruise control. But that may not be a concern for you.

+1 this. I have the exact same issue. Awesome bike, but the vibes are stout from 1200 to 1800 rpms. I too installed the Glide-Pro. 09's and up don't have the vibe issues that I'm aware of.
Just my two cents

I plan on installing the rest of the Glide-Pro system in the winter. Other than that, they're great bikes.

Congrats and welcome to the forum!
