Got a maintenance question -

I am about to hit 1000 miles on my new Street Glide and the dealer wants $340 to do the service and change to synthetics. Not sure if I should let them do it or not. I have always maintained all my vehicles including bikes and tractors, but this is my first new bike that is under warranty. I don't have a service manual yet for this bike, so I am hesitant to not have the dealer do this. The warranty is also a factor in it. Can they deny warranty down the road because I did not have them do the service? If I do it, what all is needed at the 1000 mile? What fluids do you guys suggest? Synthetics were not suggested on Sportsters so I do not have any experience with synthetics and motorcycles.
