Maybe it was the trees fault for getting in the way. Do and address search on the address and see if there's any money there. That's why I live were I live. The leak was probably from your butt when you saw the tree coming at you.

This actually happened to me once. I was exiting the freeway and this minivan must have lost its oil fiter or something... I didn't go down, but it scared the shit out of me. I saw the van at a gas station at the end of the exit and told him what almost happened. Attendant at the gas station called highway patrol and they coned off the area so nobody else would hit the oil slick. I'm assuming a crew came out later and cleaned up.

One post and then vanish? I've been around bikes my entire life and unless whatever leaked found it's way under your back tire, I can't see this as viable either.
