Default Save your $$$$

So I asked yesterday if anyone had dealt with the stock mufflers in the way I had on the 2 previous bikes, and nahdah.
Cool,
I took my factory mufflers off, and could see huge open chambers except for the restrictors in the *** end of them. I didn't have the correct size hole saw to remove so I got the torches out last night and removed them.
Well, DAMN, talk about thumper..........
I left the cat in tact for I am not ready to spend the $$$$ chasing sound through what I suspect is not that big of a prohibitor, and again, DAMN.

I now have open ended factory mufflers and they sound like the "old" SE mufflers prior to emmisions.

The restrictor in the ends are about 6" long, 3/4" diameter. and have 12 1/4" holes for the exhaust (sound) to escape through. Talk about restrictive. Best of all I suspect if I want to "tune" to my liking, I can tack weld a SS pipe in the *** end of them as deep into the mufflers as needed to fine tune them.

All in all, I suspect this smokes the cat removal in terms of both flow restriction and sound restriction. I have yet to take it down the road but firing it up in the garage, and cracking the throttle, she thumps......
