Looking for some feed back on Cobra - Tri-Oval II Slip-on Mufflers for a 2015 FLHTK or similar Rushmore. Like the look and warrenty from Cobra.
Looking for sound and performance input. I looked and can not find any sound recording the new ones, Cobra - Tri-Oval II Slip-on Mufflers, just the originals.
I already have tinnitus bad from military service so want something that is loud when hoping on it to alert others of my presence, but not something to loud at cruising speeds.
Also if I remove the cat does that greatly increase sound level with these mufflers?
And yes I know sound is different to everyone. Just want some input before I make my final decision.
Normally wear a half helmet and want something a little louder than stock.
I put a set of Tri-Ovals on my 2015 Street Glide and really like the sound, deeper but not a whole lot louder at idle but I can really hear them when accelerating. My only complaint is the popping when decelerating. I need a fuel management module, but don't know which one works best.
I love the sound of Cobra exhaust and I wanted to go with them on my most recent build, but they have a rather large baffle (3"). Those mufflers will work great with a cat, but if you decat I'm afraid you will lose backpressure to the point that torque will suffer such that you will feel it with the butt dyno. I talked to V&H, Cobra, FM and Drago before choosing mine and the consensus was it takes a pretty radical build to support a baffle any larger than 2".
