While I had the bike in at the local indy having the 11" Santees put on, I went ahead and had him gut the cat. So far, I feel like that was a really good decision. Obviously, the exhaust note changed. A little louder and deeper. It woke the Monster Rounds up a little. Still not overbearing though, which is the way I wanted it. Definately MUCH cooler on the right side! It seems to me that the throttle response has quickened. I really haven't figured out the coorelation there, but it is more responsive. I really haven't noticed any feel of the seat power differences. Pretty much the same. And finally, it appears, so far, that some of the clicks and clatters have quietened down some. ???? Maybe they have or maybe I'm just getting used to my new ride. I've finally realized that it is just plain different than my 04 was so, the plan is, ride the hair off of it and have a blast doing it!! HARLEYS,,,,,you gotta love em!
gutted my last saturday. sounds much better, as far as the heat cant tell much difference here, but it is staying above 100 everyday so couldnt tell anyway.
Going this route are there any real perks to getting headers? the price is definately better and if there is only a couple HP gain on headers I might have to send the head pipes to get gutted. Thanks for any advise... im just now really starting to mess with the RG
Probably one of those deals that you ask 10 guys and get 10 different answers. I'm keeping what I have. I like the look, I like the sound. I don't think you would ever notice the difference on the street. Maybe on the dyno, but I don't ride there.
